October 1 2009 Iraqi Dinar Finance Flash It’s another one of those “Finance Flash” posters stating that
soldiers are no longer able to withdraw USD from their ECC cards in
an effort to phase out USD and reinforce the native currency, the
Iraqi Dinar. The poster looks very similar to one posted on
DinarSpeculation earlier this year, you can see it here:

Some boots on the ground information on this change would be awesome - please forward this  to anyone who might have input or be interested!

Well here it is days after the hint at a 90% confirmed rumor and nothing new posted. I have checked several sites and no one is putting up anything new. What’s going on. One blog page talked about hints that certain banks were getting ready for exchange by training people on De la Rue machines however did not mention what banks. does anyone have anything to add????

I live in Texas. And a friend went into the the bank yesterday and was doing some business with one of the banks managers. He asked him if he knew of any news on the Dinar. The banker played completely stupid about the Dinar. As the conversation continued the banker realized my friend had lots of Dinars. The banker then changed his toon and offered to buy all of them on the spot. He then stated that the bank would buy the all. So you be the judge on if he knows anything.

On another note just read on dinarinfo they are predicting an RI not a RV. RI meaning reinstatement of the Dinar at a value of around 3.86. This is due to the fact the Dinar was worth 3.22 upon the U.S. lead invasion. It sounds a little outlandish to me!! But just passing along the rumors I’ve seen.

whats this site going to be about? Also I happen to be over in Iraq, Im wondering how they could afford the RV or RI. As posted above the army is not useing the american dollar in iraq anymore, thus we have to use ECC or dinar to pay the local venders. Through this you have soldiers walking around now more then before with amounts of up to 400,000 dinar. If they did a RV or RI all these soldiers who dont even know what they have in there pocket would become rich, now look up online how many of us are over here and speculate that half of the soldiers have have of the amount that they could get a month! Then translate that to the possiable RV RI speclated rate. I dont see how they would let this happen. Your thoughts?

Brian, your IP address (only visible to myself) shows that you are in Hong Kong, but you say you are in Iraq. Care to explain?

When’s the last time you were paid? The reason I ask is because pbraly posted a good link to armytimes.com confirming the end of using US cash in Iraq over on dinarvets.com: http://dinarvets.com/forums/showthread.php?t=874.

I’ve also had other sources confirm this news.

I have a buddy who is working in Iraq. He’s not military, but he’s kinda “military support”…he buys and sells stuff to them that they need, or something like that. Anyway, I sent him an email about 2 days ago asking him if he could verify the “rumor” about the USD no longer being used in Iraq. He responded rather mater-of-factly that the practice has been in place since the beginning of October to help strengthen the Dinar. He’d like to see an RV as well. I guess I can move this one from rumor to fact. I don’t know if that means RV is tomorrow, but I’m sure it’s closer. I wish I had some; that’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

This is exactly how it is here, I was going off the flier and stating how it would have to be if the flier was indeed factual. I was at finance today nothing has changed at all. I can still get 600 USD in IQD a month if I so choose to use with the “local venders” and or withdraw USD from my ECC. I was neither confirming or denying the flier, I asked how or why would they limit soldiers to having only IQD. They wouldn’t. As for how they pay me, well of course its in USD direct deposit in the states. Come on! As I read through my first post I can see how one would think that I was making a statement and not asking a question. I jumped the gun and went of the flier and not on fact. The flier is indeed false as I got USD from ECC today. So basically this whole conversation is pointless. I invested the first time I was here in 2004. I doubt being here will give me any inside information but if I here something before I see it posted then I will post.
