Let’s get some common sense flowing today, shall we?
It was rumored that all Dinar sales would stop last week. Didn’t happen.
It was rumored that the RV had to happen within 30 days of the elections. Didn’t happen.
It was rumored that X, Y, and Z dates were set in stone. Well, X,Y, and Z came and went, with no RV.
Let’s disregard all that stuff, and look at what Adam Montana likes to give you: news and speculation founded in reality, not a phony date or rate.
My personal opinion is that we are very close to seeing some movement on the Iraqi Dinar. I come to this conclusion from reading the CBI articles, the IMF articles, the UN briefings, and from discussing this complicated topic with contacts that I’ve made over the years. Here’s a quick summary of the latest:
I’ve said it all along, I really don’t see anyone beating Maliki in these upcoming elections at the end of this week. I think the Iraqi government knows this as well, so why would they figure the elections into their time frame for re-evaluation? It can happen after the elections just as well as before, so don’t read March 7 into your timeline.
We DO know that the CBI is officially re evaluating the currency. This is great news, but it does not put a date on the decision.
We also know that the ISX is stopping trading for a short time during the elections. It’s obvious that the elections ARE a big deal, and everyone wants them to go smooth.
I personally think that the RV will be after the elections for that reason. If they announce it now, the people go nuts, and afterwards the election results are tainted with rumors of foul play, people not voting because they were in line at the bank, etc. There’s too much that can go wrong if the elections are influenced or overshadowed by a major revaluation of the exchange rate.
So, where does that leave us? If we can’t pin down a date, can we pin down a rate?
Maybe… check this out.
I’d like to take a moment to caution the hopefuls out there… YES, there is a chance that we’re going to get a ton of money back on the Iraqi Dinar revaluation! NO, that doesn’t mean you are guaranteed to turn $1000 into $1,000,000 overnight or even over the course of several years by buying Iraqi Dinar. Here’s a great thread that was just posted this morning on the DinarVets forum showing that we might see an increase from 1180:1 to 1000:1.
In the meantime, the central bank will continue the policy of stabilizing the exchange rate dinar to the dollar, “Al-Watan” that the central bank seeks to raise the value of the Iraqi dinar of 1180 dinars per U.S. dollar to 1000 dinars per U.S. dollars, within the month of June…
Don’t get me wrong here… I’m not saying this is official, or it is set in stone. but the FACT is it is possible that you’ll only see a 15% return on your money. If that happens, my advice is to be happy you didn’t lose 50% by sticking your money in the stock market.
Nevertheless – our speculative venture continues, and this ride aint over till the fat lady sings!
Best regards, and stay tuned!

I agree that it wont happen before the elections are over but I also think the “00 dinars per U.S. dollars” is just another smoke screen. Why even bother with such a small amount? What does that do for Iraq and the Iraqi’s? nothing at all.
Thanks for keeping it real, Adam. I’m glad you’re not demolishing your reputation by applying “The Sky is Falling” techniques to gain attention. We won’t name names.
Great news as always Adam. like all investments, give it time. thank you for the info. one question to you, the other day you mentioned that there were a meeting behind closed doors and the IRS was part of it. What does the IRS has to do with middle east banks? I’m sorry for the question, is just that i don’t understand. please explain so i can learn more. GO DINARS!!!!
it is said in the Bible “If two of more come to him in prayer”….PRAY PEOPLE PRAY
Adam, I live in the National forest of Ocala Florida. I read what is said in the chat rooms but I do not post comments because I do not have enough knowledge in the economics of Iraq.I have 200thousand dinars which is not much but some is better than none and with the knowledge that I gained from your emails and your chats I know that I will have more money than I did yesterday for however long it takes. We are Blessed. Thank you so much .I feel that you care about people. I would like to know what part of the country you live. I wish I could be as smart as you are. Thanks again Star
There is an old proverb that says…”the things that we look at most is what we usually become like…” Greed is not a very attractive suit to ware. If I were part of the Iraqi leadership I would be trying to do the best for the country and let the chips fall where they may… I am just happy to be part of the ride…no matter how it ends…
Greetings,
Adam thank you for your updates, very well appreciated.
Concern, I really don’t see any great difference … it show me it remain the same as what you put in. Unless my calculation is wrong!!!
All I will have to do is sit and wait until that time comes around.
Just fancy that an ERM locks them up for good at 1000:1 for one more decade and let it be on a managed float or whatever. LOL!
1000 from 1170 is a MAJOR step in the right direction.
It says a whole lot and I think as Iraq heals you could then see
900
800
700
600
500
400
300
200
100
50
10
1
2
3????
Well this is certainly lending more credibility toward a managed float environment than a rapid rv. Sorry to say.
Adam….Great stuff as usual. As NAte said what does a little blip like that do for the people of Iraq? In that scenario, it would lead me to believe they would test the waters raising the ratye little by little over a period of time but in the mean time the people of Iraq suffer even more. NO?
Thanks for the input Adam. We are enjoying the ride and just waiting patiently.

I’m with you, Nate. If that’s all . . . . why bother ?
What I get out of your announcement is that there isn’t going to be a reval – or one that would be be the slightest bit close to what we’ve been anticipating – and isn’t that great. A reval was very definitely touted to be getting millions of U.S. dollars for thousands of Iraqi dinars! If what you are now blowing in our ears is true, it’s obvious that your chat room and several others have been part of marketing plans from day one for what are probably your dinar dealer handlers to sell more dinars to us little guys while the global overlords were privately cashing in their billions of dinars at the higher rates that we kept hearing about during the last few months – leaving the rest of us to eat dirt – and isn’t that great! By the way, will you please stop using the word “great” – particularly when you follow up with your dropping grenades on us as if we’re stupid enough to jump up and down in joy over the fact that our expectations have evaporated? And, also, you don’t have to remind us of the fact that we should only have invested in this “speculative venture” if we could afford to lose it or that we should be happy with a 15% return on our investments. I doubt if it would even be that much. In any event, a 15% “profit” is a far cry from the 1,000 to 3000% profit we’ve been looking at. Since I’ve been an investor, I have heard nothing but “positive” hype from you and people like you – even when your opinions and prognostications have never materialized. Now, you still have the audacity to show a happy face telling us that our hopes and dreams have evaporated – and isn’t that “great!” Maybe it is for you if you’re under contract as a pumper for the dinar dealers. I don’t think your assessment of the situation is great at all, and I sure hope you’re as wrong as most of your messages have been incoherent unintelligible and which seem to be a forum for you to tell us how wonderful things are for you.
To many of us, this was to be what pulls us out of our own personal financial dilemmas caused by a recession brought on by Bush spending hundreds of bllions of American taxpayer dollars to get rid of Iraq’s monstrous dictator and his boys. That money was from the citizens of the U.S. that we didn’t have. Now the whole economy of the country is in shambles – affecting millions of us. And let’s not forget the lives of so many Americans and other well-meaning countries that have been lost to help Iraq to get out of the dark ages and back on its feet. A reasonable reval of anything above a dollar per dinar is far more appropriate than the sucker punch of increasing the value of the dinar by .000188! Bad joke. Are they for real? No, it isn’t great news!
nate, I pray that you are right.
I just read a new cbi announcement stating that they were happy with the 1700 rate and that leaves me to believe that we won’t see a rv till the end of this year and possibly longer.
It doesnt make good sence to me to go to 1000iqd to 1usd.Can you imagine buying milk in Iraq.4500IQD I think they are putting out a little crap jmo
“BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: There are no plans to make the exchange rate of ID1,000 equal to $1, Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) said on Wednesday.

I smell smoke, a lot of bs is being put out by Iraq which to me is a good sign that something big is coming
Adam,
What banks are in the Wilmington,de. area with the Rue machines, etc.
Appreciate all info.
Thanks,
If you are looking to safe money on your insurrance, you can’t get a lower rate than ALLSTATE. I have done the research and no one, not even Geico, can give you a lower rate than ALLSTATE.
Full disclosure: i don not recieve and money from allstate from that endorsement.
FYI only
@ 15% return? We simply are paying for the commission to exchange the dinar–why would anyone want to invest in a break-even investment? Maybe a time to invest in another country or another product???
Wooo hoo!!! Maybe 15%??? Break that down and that’s 3% per year I have invested. If that’s true HUGE waste of time. Minus the processing fees from the dealers….Could be a break even. Would have rather invrested in my Savings account
invest in what you can afford to lose not what you cant. God has nothing to do with making people rich. niether does allah, buddah, the pope, or santa claus. Many lives have been lost over in iraq. That wasnt god that was bullets. good fortune to all i hope invest wisely
Yep,strange things going on behind them closed doors. Even Cramer was acting funny like he did not want to say to much.”Just buy” the ups man said he did not know what was in the package I was getting but there was a lot of people getting them in my area. Dear park Texas area where the oil comes and gas is made.I am new to all this but have read what all of you have been saying for so long, and this is the wind that leads the rain. Now just prey for a flood
Adam it sounds like doubt and uncertainty has overtaken your view of the RV/RI? One might ask how 1000:1 valuates the new 5, 10, 25 denominations to any worthwhile purpose other than for purchasing stamps from the Iraqi postal service. Some are questioning why Maliki is waiting to disclose the revaluation and seems to have dumped the issue into Shabibi’s lap. Perhaps the news won’t be quite what we wish or perhaps it is an enabling mechanism to avoid criticism or responsibility for the decision either way?
While going from 1180 to 1000 to $1usd is possible, it would not result in new bills being introduced before the end of the year. There would be no need. Please remember that the introduction of the new bills has been promised by year end. There would also be no need to remove the large bills from circulation. Possible scenario: bump up the value to 1000 to 1, then RV to 1 dinar equals $1 USD.
Adam
do you see it rising to the same value as the Kuwaiti Dinar?
Lets get this straight the dinar is $866 per million and most people paid 1024-1030 roughly for the million dinar we paid approx 17%, now when we cash in we will make 15%, for a net gain of -2% . HMMMMM and we will pay a fee to cash in for a negative gain of 2-7%.
I think I will hold mine for a few years!!!
They will RI because they can ‘t be in the GCC with a currency that has little or no value! The have to be on PAR with the ME counties for that to happen!
That would be a HUGE waste of time and would NOT strengthen their economy!
The fact I’m not seeing my comment posted or the comment of a friend who sent you one after I did can only mean that you rejected it and may have canceled my “membership.”
That only confirms in my mind that I may have been correct in my assessment of the situation and your role. Please send me an e-mail message with your reply.
Will it rise to the Kuwaiti Dinar in the near future???
Hello, Well this will be a long process that are almost at the end. Lets give it 3 moths. They have to rule policies with the new dinars. Patience and save money to buy more dinars!
I ARE STILL WAITING ON THE RV. MAYBE IT WILL HAPPEN NEXT WEEK, MAYBE NOT. I THUNK IT MAY HAPPEN AFTER THE RELECTION, MAYBE NOT, I’LL BE BACK, I NEED NOTHER BOTTLE OF MY SPECIAL SYDER.
The facts are that in arabic that re-evaluation and revaluation are the same.It has been agreed about the RV,however we just do not know the amount as of yet or when this will actually happen.Regardless with all the information I have read and recieved I can speculate that 3.22 is a good number.
Not to happy with the article I just read in a Iraq newspaper. I hope it’s just a smoke screen!
The CBI said that the current exchange rate, ID1,170 = $1, is balanced, stable, and can be preserved through Iraq’s foreign currency reservoir of $43 billion.
I sent two comments earlier. I saw them both, finally, and when I came back to see them again, they were gone. Whassup?
I guess I go back to my question in the second message, when I asked if you were not going to post my first comment and did that mean I was being canceled as a member? Please either post my messages for all to see, or send me an e-mail message, as I asked in my second comment, telling me why you’re not posting my comments and if I’m be canceled?
That’ll be “great.”
Now I see the three messages I sent. Is this a two way communication, only? No matter if it is. I’m addressing my comments to you and the rest of the world doesn’t have to see them if you don’t want them to.
Economies are built on stability. I will use this example to explain what I mean. Suppose that you are a business man in Iraq and you want to build widgets. You have 100 mil dinar. Should you build your factory now or wait and see what the dinar does. If it is going to jump in value 15% that means that if he waits he can spend 15% percent less money to get the same factory. If it jumps to 1 dinar to 1 dollar he doesn’t need a factory he is rich beyond his wildest dreams. Stabilization of the country’s currency is very important to Iraq because that is the life blood of economic growth. If its going to value of the currency jumps around, everyone sits on the side lines and waits for it and they don’t spend their money and you have no economic growth, nothing happens. Steady growth is also ok because it is predictable and entrepreneurs and investors know what is happening they spend money and the economy grows. They do have the oil which will bring growth, but you can grow four to ten times that amount with stability.
Just my opinion
Hmm…”Sky falling”, “OO” syndrome?! O_o should like some weird Anime review.
However, i was always under the assumption that the RV is much like the second coming of Chirst. (NO ONE knows when that will be) as so i keep telling me bro.
Squaredaway,
Do us all a favor and please, get a grip! You are very well entitled to your opinion but so is everyone else and hope springs eternal. If you don’t have hope, that’s fine but that is not to say that we all have to or want to agree with you. The bottom line is to NEVER invest more than you can afford to lose and as for me, the money I have already put into this is no big whoop because if I hadn’t invested in this, it would have more than likely been squandered on something else, with nothing to show for it.
Mr. Montana; am not much in small talk. It is what it is!
Appreciate your efforts in keeping us informed. Waiting for the bottom line. Best wishes to us all. Thanks…….

Thanks for all the updates,Adam, sounds like next week could be good for all of us.After reading some of the comments tonite most people are excited.Hope it is not a bate and switch, everyone is hoping for a big rv,myself included, just think what it would do for our economy? Thanks for all that you do Adam
I’m saddened by the negative diatribe…folks…you must understand that we all have hopes of economic comfort. Some define this level of “comfort” differrently than others. For me, it was(is) my hope to make a better life for my family and others who are less fortuntate than me. Is it so wrong to dream about the prospects of instant wealth, even though our dreams are held hostage by the complicated, economic posturing of a war-torn country. I say yes…..Dream on, to all those who share the dream of independence, freedom, and hope for just a little help making our household solvent. To pay our bills, raise our kids, help those who need help……For those on this site that want to state your opinions about the RV…Adam (in such negative terms), please take your fodder to blogs that enjoy mindless debate…..Go RV…and Adam, keep the updates current, informative, factual, and above all….fun.
Thank you Robert! Well said!
pray
I really do hope that if this happens that we all do give back to the needy in someway. If I were to make enough that I dont have to work again I’ll try to make helping others my job. Dont get me wrong I will buy that big house and the nice cars but if I become a multi-millionare my job will be to help others. Maybe big donations or starting a charitable company or traveling the world to disaster sites like Chile and Haiti. Think about it, humans need to work, some sense of purpose, I think I’d go crazy eventually just sitting around.
I hope you all do the same in some way. I blelieve in Karma and I just wouldn’t feel right not do something for somebody else.
But after you have your dream home and cars and all. ???? hmmmmm
I believe the RV will happen and just know it will . If you look at it america is really just getting it’s money back from the war lol . Just relax people if it happens you have some money now and if it doesn’t well then it didn’t you are no different then you were the 5 seconds before . Yes money will be nice but it’s not that important . Thank you Adam you have given me something to do everyday it’s kind of fun seeing all the news updates and everything everyone has to say .haha have a great day
Here is hoping that our money invested and our time could be rewarded in some way small or large we do not know. Time frame is another question. I hope that some good will come of all of this.
SH
I don’t think Adam deserved that scathing tirade from squaredaway! Adam has never (to my knowledge) made statements-of-fact about the Dinar, the CBI, or the IMF based on conjecture or rumor unless he stated that it was just that! Thanks Adam for your continued perseverance and doggedness on our behalf. Afterall, aren’t we involved in DINAR SPECULATION? squaredaway needs to get “SQUARED AWAY!”
RapidRabbit
I used a money exchanger for dinars and this is the message that was posted along with the amounts:
