“Hat Tip” to one of our best newshounds on the forum, Woody. I’m working on some serious studying over the next couple weeks, and he has graciously agreed to help the blog by hand picking articles for me to share here.
I will, of course, give my personal opinion as I post them. We’re not here to just read news, after all – we’re here to speculate!

Toyota agency opening in Arbil step to refurbish Kurdistan’s private sector – official
May 16, 2010 – 06:19:09
ARBIL / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqi Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Burham Saleh said on Sunday that the inauguration of an agency of Japan’s giant Toyota in Arbil is a “significant step to develop the private sector in the region”.
“The move is indicative of the confidence in the region’s government and the stability it is boasting,” Saleh said in an address on the occasion.
He noted that a businessmen’s conference will be held soon in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region in association with the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Arbil, the capital city of the semi-autonomous Iraqi Kurdistan Region, lies 360 km north of Baghdad.

Remember not too long ago when Kurdistan was in shambles, the Kurds had no voice, and there was no unity between ANY of the parties?
Well, this is a far cry from that day! CONFIDENCE in the economy, government, and stability is EXACTLY what we want to see. Keep bringing the good news, Iraq! We’re right here waiting… some more patiently than others.
Talk to you soon!

Ya know working here in Iraq, I see the Iraqi’s here on base, they are working and are “Happy”, some with other private companies, and others for themselves. They are able to provide for themselves and their family’s. I see this as a good thing for the region and the Iraqi people. Adam and Woody, you guys ROCK, I appreciate what you do. Go Iraq, and Go DINAR!!
Al Shabibi also said a planned re-basing of the Iraqi dinar, by knocking three zeroes from it, could be expected next year, with the move requiring “a lot of field work.”
So, is that good or bad Frank??

Recount in Iraq Preserves Victory for Maliki Rival
…But in the news conference on Sunday, Mr. Abboudi said the recount in the populous province around the capital, Baghdad, did not change the initial results. Two candidates lost their seats to candidates from the same party, leaving the breakdown the same as it was in March: 91 seats for Mr. Allawi, 89 for Mr. Maliki. …”
Based on all this, I assume this also means a RV sooner rather than later…hummm?
Adam thank you so much for all your time and hard work. I bought my dinar in 2009 I have been excited ever since can’t wait for the RV!!!! One question and I know you can only speculate but do you honestly think it will RV be the end of 2010? Thanks again go DINAR!!!!!!!!!
Frank let’s hope not, I’d like the revalue to hit at least ten cents, that would be nice.

How – most likely we’ll be able to cash in anywhere, but it’s a good idea to weigh your options at the time. Make sure you’re subscribed to the newsletter!
