BAGHDAD, May 20 (UPI) — U.S. officials warn that firebrand Shiite leader Moqtada Sadr, a key player in Iraq’s political crisis as rival leaders struggle to form a coalition government, is reviving his Mehdi Army militia in the south.There have been reports that the militia, which has close links with neighboring Iran, may have been involved in a recent surge of violence following the inconclusive March 7 parliamentary elections

The meeting between heads of political coalitions at Al Salam Palace was successful, sources from the meeting said.Iraqi President Jalal Talabani was able to break the ice among electoral entities by gathering them over lunch feast.
President Talabani urged all participants to accelerate the formation of the next national unity government, Mohammed Allawi, a senior official from Al Iraqiya List said.

For all those who think you’re going to get answers to your questions here, you are sorely mistaken…and mis-guided. Yes, this site is indeed good for “speculation”….a repository of ideas, thoughts and assumptions…but if you’re seeking answers to good questions….well then you can ask away….and in return…..NOTHING…unless of course you accept flippant responses, void of substance AND humor….If you’re OK with a condescending tone, along with a shallow, meangless response, well then this is the site for you. I enjoy coming here for the entertaining value I gain by reading the futile attempt to actually answer questions from the good people who ask them. For the ill-informed to say that if you gain a penny on your investment, then you’re lucky is absolutely asinine…and you know who you are. We invested in the IQD with hopes of realizing a generous return. A return that many of the “brokers” used as part of their sales pitch…so yes, we are disappointed to hear talk about the LOP and the potential of reducing our 25k notes to a fraction of what we’d all hoped would be considerable gains….I’m disappointed with the chatter, but remain positive about my investment…in the words of the immortal Paul Harvey…Good Day.

So, out of all of these news items, what timeframe do you see for the dinar to reval? Any good idea of the rate?
We were all anticipating something happening – first with the Vietnam dong that was supposed to be this weekend – nada – and the Iraqi dinar to reval within a couple days after that.
What is your opinion, now, of where both revals stand????
squaredaway, whoever is telling you the Dong is supposed to RV soon is trying to cross-captialize on the excitement of the Dinar. There is no reason for the Dong to RV soon, and the people telling you that should be avoided.
The Dong is devaluing right now and is probably 2 years away from moving up.
